The Beauty Junkie Mama: Brighten Up in 2017

Woman + Kids = MOM with under eye circles.

Darkness in the under eye area is genetic, but lack of sleep and even allergies can make them look so much worse. As a makeup artist, I've learned every trick in the book and my skills were definitely put to the test once I became a mother!

Eye Cream

If you haven't been using eye cream now is the time to start! Not only will this help to hydrate the delicate eye area but it will also help to prevent crows feet and premature aging. Eye cream should be used at night as well as during the day under your makeup. Look for one that has caffeine for day. This will help de-puff and brighten the eye area. Apply with your middle finger and gently pat underneath eye and circle to the outer corners and onto the brow bone.

Concealer

Under eye concealer will automatically make you look awake. It's the one makeup product I cannot live without. Concealer should be applied in a "v" shape under the eye and blended with your finger or a fluffy concealer brush. Add some concealer to the inner corners of your eye and right below your eyebrow as well and blend. This will help to highlight and make the eyes look brighter and more awake.

Eyelash curler

This is a step I never leave out. An eyelash curler makes lashes more curled and opens up the eyes. You should always squeeze it close to the lash line then walk it out while squeezing toward the ends. Eyelash curling should be immediately followed by step 4.

Mascara

After curling your lashes add a few coats of black mascara on the top lashes. Always start at the base and wiggle the wand while swiping towards the tips. I always find it necessary to dip the brush into the bottle to reload with product a couple of times for each eye. Then swipe whatever is excess on the brush onto the bottom lashes.

These steps are quick and easy. Try all 4 and see how much more awake you look!
