I am a creature of habit, so if this blog sounds familiar, it’s probably because it’s one of my favorite ones to write year after year. It’s an opportunity for me to invite all of you to an event that is near and dear to my heart- and includes the opportunity to enjoy wine with your friends while simultaneously making an incredible charitable impact on local children.
Next month, on Friday, March 20th, Hudson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is hosting the 14th Annual Wine Tasting at Battello in Jersey City, NJ, featuring wines hand selected by Cork Wines & Spirits in Hoboken and a silent auction with fabulous items ranging from family events to gifts from local vendors, as well as sweets and treats.
Last year, the proceeds of this event provided for more than 75 children to attend summer camp. In addition, CASA provides backpacks with school supplies and a Birthday Cake project for children who may never have received a birthday cake. Take a minute to think about how often we take these small luxuries for granted. Imagine making that kind of difference in the life of a child? You can be part of that impact.
CASA is a non-profit organization committed to advocating for abused and neglected children. CASA works through trained volunteers to ensure that needed services and assistance are made available to children while helping to move them toward safe and permanent homes. CASA volunteers serve as “a child’s voice in court” making recommendations to the family court judge that are in the best interest of the child. CASA’s purpose is to improve the well-being and future outcomes of foster children through the advocacy of its committed volunteers.
Year after year, the event proves to be a success. It is a great reason to enjoy a Friday night out and create opportunities for children around us.
Tickets can be purchased here.
I look forward to seeing you there!
