Easter Basket Ideas for Self Isolation

Easter is quickly approaching and despite being in self-isolation, some children still believe/know that the Easter Bunny is real and coming. The Easter Bunny will magically be visiting them the morning of April 12 and leaving them an egg-citing (I couldn't help myself) Easter surprise. At this time some shipping delays are inevitable, so it is encouraged to prepare in advance. We got the bunny covered, the Jesus part is up to you. Here is a list of some local and some easily shippable ideas to make this isolated Easter still magical.

Art Supplies

Check out our previous list highlighting all the best art supplies.

Bath Bombs

Bath time has become more of an activity now that we are self isolating. These kids bath bombs make bath time even more exciting with surprise a Easter Squishy Toy inside each one. They are made with 99% natural ingredients and are safe for sensitive skin. Handmade by moms, the are Vegan, Phthalate-Free, Cruelty-Free, Non-GMO, and eco-friendly.

Buni Crochet

This local mom crochets the most adorable Easter baskets as well as stuffed animals. Message her on Instagram and you can coordinate the logistics of your order.

Board Games

We have no idea how long we will be stuck inside isolated, from friends and extended family. Board games are a great way to enjoy our time together. Some fun options are Candy Land, Mr. Bucket, The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, Monopoly Junior (it now even has a Unicorns vs. Llamas Edition), Hi Ho! Cherry-O, and Guess Who.

Crystal Hedgehog Growing Kit

This excellent STEM toy teaches basic science and chemistry. Recommended for ages 8+

Eggs

Whether you put them in your child's basket or if you hide them around the house for a hunt, Easter eggs are essential. There is a surprising variety of eggs for purchase online. ThinkMax's Slime Easter Silly Fluffy Eggs were a great find, as were these eggs pre-filled with Animal Figures.

Foam Alive

We saw this at the recent Toy Fair 2020 and fell in love with it. It is truly mess free (we tested it), and not sticky or wet (after we tested it, Melissa's son tested it and approved). It is soft, squishy, and fluffy all at the same time, and is an excellent sensory activity, as well as just a bunch of therapeutic fun.

Learning Resources Snap Cubes

This Educational Counting Tool can be found in some Hoboken Public School classrooms and was recommended to me by a local mom. It is a great aid when teaching children to count to 100 by ones, and tens, while also being super super fun to snap together.

Melissa and Doug Sticker Books and Puffy Reusable Sticker Activity Pad

Kids of all ages are obsessed with stickers and both of these sticker options come in a variety of themes (Dinosaurs, Fairies, Pirates, Safari, Ocean, Farm, Mermaids, Careers, the list goes on). Better yet, they are both reusable.

Monarch Butterfly Dress Up Wings

These wings from Douglas Cuddle Toys come in purple, pink, and orange and are fabulous. Recommended ages are 3 - 7 years.

Paint by Sticker Kids: Zoo Animals

Pogo Stick - Flybar "My First Foam Pogo Stick Jumper"

This is a perfect way to exercise indoors while working on core strength and coordination. The foam bottom will not scratch your floors.
