Holistic Momma: Salt Lamp Love

Have you seen these cute little pink lamps that are popping up everywhere? Himalayan salt lamps are gaining popularity not just because they're pretty to look at! Keeping a salt lamp (or several) in your home has a ton of benefits!

When my daughter was a newborn and sleeping in our room, the pretty pink light served as the perfect nightlight. The soft, dim glow creates a calming atmosphere that is inviting and warm, especially after the end of a long day!

A salt lamp is exactly what it sounds like - a large piece of Himalayan sea salt with a bulb inside! They help clean the air in a room by attracting water vapor in the air and eliminating it. This cleans the air of allergens or bacteria. Those with allergies may see an improvement with the addition of a salt lamp in their home.

These lamps are natural negative ion generators, which improve mood, neutralize air quality, and help with sleep. While you may not see a tremendous difference solely from the addition of the lamp, the benefits are there and a helpful addition to a healthy lifestyle.

The soft natural light is perfect for the change of seasons, and the moodiness that may creep in during the winter months.

My favorite benefit is the atmosphere it creates. I leave ours going all day in our bedroom and the light gives me such a positive and warm feeling. It's a perfect addition for a home yoga or meditation practices.
