Hi there mamas!
I'm Marissa. I'm a Hoboken mom of 2 boys, a former (unhappy) corporate attorney in my pre-kids life, and now a (happy) real estate agent with the Maryanski Group at Keller Williams City Life Realty.
My husband Jon and I made the well-known "jump" across the Hudson River from Manhattan to Hoboken pretty much the day we saw those two little pink lines pop up on the home pregnancy test. We looked at each other and said, "We need more space!" What we thought it would just be a place to buy us a few more years of "city living" before making the inevitable move to the suburbs, has turned into a
complete love affair with the city of Hoboken, and a desire to hopefully stay here forever.
I grew to love the Mile Square so much that while I was home with my older son after he was born, I decided to get my real estate license. I enjoyed being home with him yet yearned to do something that also took advantage of my networking skills and education. If I was going to do something that took me away from my son, I felt strongly that it had to be something I was truly passionate about. After a lot of thought, (and a few late-night episodes of Million Dollar Listing on Bravo) I knew it was the right fit for me to get my real estate license and become an agent. I had actually studied property law in law school and it was one of my favorite courses - I should have known then! I soon found my way to the best agency in town, and then on to the best real estate team in town. I feel very fortunate to be able to say that I do something I truly love now, while still being able to spend a good amount of time at home with my boys. It's all about balance.
Last fall, my husband and I purchased our first home - in Hoboken! That was such an exciting moment for us. Even more exciting, was that I was the buyer's agent for the transaction. Even after being a real estate agent for a few years, being the buyer was such a learning experience. It gave me that much more knowledge as a local agent and an increased ability to help first-time homebuyers through the sometimes complicated and stressful home-buying process. It is possible to find
a home you love no matter what your budget or special needs here in Hoboken. I've been fortunate to have been able to help other families find their new home here in town as well. It truly makes me so happy when I hand my clients the keys to their new home and see their excitement to be living in Hoboken. I hope I can continue doing this for many more clients in the years to come in this one-of-a-kind place we are all so lucky to call home.
