For anyone who has experienced the poorly named “morning sickness” (actually - nausea and vomiting of pregnancy), you know how debilitating it can be. It’s hard to determine what’s worse - persistent, unrelenting nausea or unpredictable vomiting that strikes anytime, anywhere.
I HIGHLY suggest talking to your doctor if your nausea and vomiting interferes significantly with your daily life and/or persists past the first trimester. I had personally found the medication available to be extremely helpful in allowing me to function like a semi-normal person again. I wish I could tell you that I treated this 100% naturally, but that’s just not true. In fact I distinctly recall crying to my doctor and basically begging for drugs!
That being said - there are a lot of holistic remedies that can be used in place of or in conjunction with medication.
Here are my favorites:
Ginger - I love the chews, but tea or hard candies work too.
Acupuncture - Finding Sara at Acupuncture Atelier was a game changer for me!
Chiropractic care - Find someone who specializes in prenatal care, like Hoboken Chiropractic and Wellness.
Vitamin b6 - talk to your doctor about specific dosages
Peppermint Oil - diffuse a drop or two or apply diluted drop to the belly
I am also hoping to hear your opinions and experiences - write to me over on the Little Hoboken IG stories!
